The Werewolf Cafe interview with Writer/Artist Sean Collins:
The Werewolf Cafe: Hello Sean, thank you so much for doing this interview. Please tell us a little bit about your current werewolf related projects.
Sean Collins: "Spirit of the Wolf" is about a man that loses everything only to gain something more in the form of a wolf spirit that guides him & gives him a new found strength.
The W C: What inspired you to write the comic book "Spirit of the Wolf"?
Sean: Well, I grew up in native American culture (Cherokee, Apache, and Blackfoot) so I wanted to write something based around it's myth & stories, plus I've always loved wolves & werewolves. lol
The W C: How long ago did you start working on "Spirit of the Wolf"?
Sean: 6 years ago I started out with the basic plot line, but for some reason or another I just never finished it, so fast forward to 2006 when I was getting ready for Wizard World Chicago. I was looking for a story to do so I began looking through my old plots & found this un-named plot that just needed a little reworking & the rest is history.
The W C: How many issues do you have planned for it?
Sean: Currently 6 issues & a possible tradepaper sometime in the future.
The W C: Please tell us about the main characters in "Spirit of the Wolf".
Sean: John Redfeather, is a very proud man whom is in a place in his life were he doesn't know what do with himself, he has to deal with the loss of his family and a wolf spirit that annoys the hell out of him & try to learn to live with the wolf spirit & all the things that come with it.
The W C: As both the writer and the artist of this series, it must have a personal meaning to you, can you give any special insight into it?
Sean: "Spirit of Wolf" is kinda my way of going off and playing corner by myself in that there is not any characters out there like this, plus I'm glory hog. lol
The W C: You are a writer and an artist, is there one that you enjoy doing more than the other?
Sean: I enjoy doing both equally, both have their fun parts & not so fun parts. lol
The W C: Just have to ask, do you have any werewolf related items at home? If so, what is your favorite werewolf item and why?
Sean: My DVD set of "The Wolf Man" legacy collection & my statue of the Lon Chaney Jr. verision of the wolf man plus my Bubba comics (Mitch you owe me one, lol)
The W C: Do you have a website where people can find out more about your projects?
Sean: Yeah, I have 2 websites www.freewebs.com/wildwolfstudio & www.myspace.com/wildwolfstudio plus I have a forum right here on The Werewolf Cafe.
The W C: Sean, thank you again for doing this interview with us today.
Sean: No problem, anytime guys, oh yeah, & on a quick note I'll be at the 2007 Wizard World Chicago show, so stop by my table & check out all I will have on hand.
